Escalae took part in the workshop for the guide to be published by ISO for the education sector (IWA2). Bogotá, 9 June 2010.

The Escalae Quality System will form part of the guide published by ISO for the education sector (IWA2). The final workshop and presentation by the ISO committee for the education sector (IWA2) was carried out within the framework of the ISO/TC 176 technical committee. As a result of this committee’s work, a Handbook will be published with guidelines for applying standard 9001:2008 in education and training organisations, including an appendix on Escalae as a benchmark for technical protocols on quality in teaching and learning processes.

Dr Federico Malpica presented the Escalae Education Quality System at the International IWA2 Forum held in Mexico City in October 2009. The International Forum on Education Quality was organised by ISO and was supported by the Mexican Ministry of Education under the heading: “IWA2 Findings and Forecasts”. It covered subjects related to education quality and its relationship with ISO and other quality management systems.

On the second day, Dr Federico Malpica gave a talk to present the Escalae system as a tool focused on the quality of education and training services, as well as the profile of participants, to ensure that organisations can identify suitable educational practices, constantly improve their teaching and learning processes and certify education quality. It can complement ISO to create a quality system with greater educational and pedagogical scope. The feedback was very positive from both education agents (teachers, directors and heads) and external support agents (consultants, trainers, advisers), who showed their interest in implementing the Escalae system in educational organisation in different states in Mexico and Honduras.
